I'm the Early Childhood Coordinator for Bryan ISD in Texas, and I'm also an Applied Digital Learning grad student. Wired Learning is my digital portfolio built on the conviction that students need to be taught in accordance with the way they're wired. As an early childhood educator I'm particularly concerned with developmentally appropriate practices, which is why I've called my site "Wired Learning."
Students are wired to learn, but they’re not geared to follow a cookie cutter one-size-fits-all method. They’re wired to follow their interests, to be curious, and to be in control of their learning. The current educational system is a factory-model that fails to capitalize on how kids are already wired. We should be asking how the students will best learn and then build the learning environment, the content delivery, the teaching method, and even the content based upon that.
